The Penguin Book of Ghost Stories: From Elizabeth Gaskell to Ambrose Bierce

The Penguin Book of Ghost Stories: From Elizabeth Gaskell to Ambrose Bierce (Penguin Classics) - Various

Note: Due to the time period of many of these books one or two will has a racial slur or animal death. This may or may not bother you but worth noting nevertheless

I found myself truly enjoying the anthology. Each story brought something to the table and while not all ended up as great in my opinion. I feel that there will be a few stories that will appeal to many readers. When thinking of a good ghost story we tend to think spooky or creepy. This wasn't the case in many of the book, many of them we're quiet sad or solemn in their final message. Few did tend to make you root for the ghost and it's cold revenge against the living or question to the haunting.

In the end this was a wonderful collection of stories from authors I knew and discovered.
